Matched Funding

Many companies now offer 'matched funding' as part of their corporate social responsibility programs, where they support their employees' charitable efforts by matching their fundraising dollar for dollar. Even if there is currently no matched funding program in place, your employer may be more than willing to make a donation to support your efforts.

Talk to your HR department and ask them if your company matches funds raised by their employees. Let them know that you are part of a team that is swimming for 24 hours in the MS 24 Hour Mega Swim and that you hope to achieve your fundraising goal to support people living with multiple sclerosis. Face to face is the best way to communicate your message, your fundraising goal and to ask for their support, but if this isn't possible, send an email or call the appropriate person (and follow it up).

MS can supply any information or official documentation you may need. Make sure you let us know if your employer agrees to match the money you raise, and we'll send your company a tax-deductible receipt and a letter of thanks following the event to express our gratitude to you and your company.

Other Ways to Get Your Company's Support

If not through matched funding, your employer may like to make a company donation, promote fundraising for your or your team in their internal communications, organise a corporate team, arrange for staff to volunteer or fundraise for the MS 24 Hour Mega Swim, pay for staff entry fees or organise company branded merchandise. They may also be interested in sponsoring an event (link to sponsorship page).
